happenings

I'm smitten with my painting by Chassity | Look Linger Love. I visit her shop daily looking for new pieces.

I had a little idea for a DIY. I needed a solution for my kitchen window. I used Ikea drapes and a little velcro..

and came up with this! Now I'm happy. I took down the bamboo blind I had up, and we lived in a fish bowl for a few days..

The violet pillow debate is going strong and there are a lot of you against it! I took it off the sofa this morning and put the zebra back on. Every time I glanced at it I wasn't happy..

so for now it stays..

I might add a little something else to go with it, I've a plan for a painting with some teal and violet.. sounds ick, but just wait.. I might impress you yet ;) x

I"ve stolen my daughters pillow.. and now I need your say!

You know me. Cream, white, beige, greige, brown, grey. That's it. Lately I have this huge attraction to color and have decided I've lived without it for long enough! I love my greige + neutral base, so now I'm layering in color. Art, flowers, throws, pops here and there. So help me decide.. I took Calleigh's Caitlin Wilson pillow and threw it on the couch. I have to say I'm sort of drawn to getting my own. What do you think? Scroll down to the last picture to see my 'safe' sofa arrangement!

it was my birthday after all ;)

Age has never bothered me. Until yesterday. Turning 35 felt like a milestone... maybe what 40 feels like for some. I felt like it meant I've grown up, this is it, you're an adult. You have kids and a career and a husband and a house and holy smokes you're getting old. Middle aged. Me? Guess so. Good thing all the above makes me so very happy that it's not so bad knowing I'm getting older. I have to say right now this year I feel the best I have in a long time. Finally came out of the having babies and toddlers and not sleeping and hair falling out and job stressed and and and.. if you're my age you probably know exactly what I'm talking about :)

 So, I treated myself. A day late turning 35 birthday gift. I've been planning it for a while and saving my pennies. Hubs took me downtown today and I went and picked out my Hermes Avalon blanket. ( Insert me trying not to do a happy dance in the middle of the very proper store ) I paid cash. SO satisfying. Also part of me growing up and being 35. I splurged today, but I've worked my ass of making + saving money. My Mom asked if it was hard handing over that much money.. it wasn't. Not when I knew what I wanted and was determined to save for it. Happy Birthday me.. now get back to saving ;)

One of the pieces I'm on the hunt for is an anorak jacket. I want something that I can quite simply throw over anything with a pair of boots and look pulled together. This Gucci bag was bought at Holt Renfrew in Montreal, Quebec on a little getaway Kev and I had :) The metallic leather is the most wonderful color! This bag retailed for $975 and I'm selling this one for $487.50. Shipping to the USA for the last LV bag sold was great.. $55 to Florida insured for $1000.. this would ship in a light weight flat box, so shipping would be pretty good, and I'll split the shipping cost with you :) :)
