funny, when I came across this entry photo on pinterest, I had to share my entry idea for the new house with you..it's almost identical. It's not a huge space, but instead of a console ( I fuss with them too darn much! ) I want to do a settee..

with a mirror, and here's what I have bookmarked for the space.

and settee via Rugs USA. In the back of my mind I'm looking for the perfect pillow for a hint of color + pattern.

Funny too, the trim work on the walls in the first image is exactly what we have in our current house now!

new house file | bonus room

The 'bonus room' up above the garage in the new house will be a new space for us.. we've never had the extra room upstairs, always down. I'm totally looking forward to seeing how it gets used.

The plan was to incorporate a bit of a play space for the girls, but they're getting older now, and it's not so much about all the big toys like it used to be. At the very last second I came up with a storage idea that we just snuck into planning approval. It may be my best idea yet ;)

There is one huge long ( kinda useless ) wall leading into the room off the hall. We are making a wall of closet.. two sets of double open swinging doors ( not bi folds ) with 3 rows of wire shelving to hold Ikea's pink bins behind it. OH BABY.. this makes this clutter free Momma SO happy :)

Decor wise, here's my plan..

Taking inspiration from this Home & Home room, we are getting this sofa from Crate & Barrel ( I die over it's belgian influenced swing arm ). I have the zebra pillows and Pottery Barn big baskets in storage just waiting for this room! It will be a comfy cozy lazy space.. oh with the added coziness of the girls white faux fur bean bags..play space, cozy tv space, family space :)

before + after

From Lisa ( Thank you Lisa!! :) ) Sarah was absolutely amazing to work with and helped me finish off the room perfectly. I have worked with designers in the past and I can honestly say this was the best experience I've had! I am looking forward to working with her on my living room next!

Lisa's vacation home needed some help with accessories and pulling the space together. It's a room for her two kids when they are there, but she also wanted a space for adults to stay when their friends used the space and not feel like they were staying in a kids room. Lisa had great West Elm pieces to work with in the space already. She knew she wanted some blue accents as it looks right out to the ocean..

We looked at some options with brighter blues and hints of purples, pinks and greens. That wasn't it. So I toned it down a bit and came up with this..

 and here it is done. LOVE it!

Lisa's space by the ocean is nowhere near me here in Calgary Alberta.. E Design with design boards is such a great way to complete your space! You see the rooms progress and see it come together each step of the way :)
